With an Ad Hoc distribution, you can try a program before it's available in the iTunes App Store. This is how we distribute trial versions of our iPhone apps to customers. Prior to installation, you need:
● .ipa file which is the program (typically called AppNamn.app.AdHoc.ipa)
● .mobileprovision file which is for the program (usually Ad_Hoc_Distribution_Profile.mobileprovision)
● Your device: iPhone or iPod Touch whose UDID you previously e-mailed us
● The computer you normally sync your device to.
We'll send the .ipa- and .mobileprovisionfiles to you via e-mail.
If you have an older version of iTunes, you need to update to a newer version in order to follow these instructions.
1. Once you have received the .ipa- and .mobileprovisionfiles in your e-mail, save them to a folder or easy to access place, for example your desktop.
2. Drag and drop the .ipa- and .mobileprovision-files to the Programs in iTunes. If you receive a message stating that there are already similar files on your computer, click Replace. If using a Mac, you may just drag the files to the iTunes icon on your dock.
3. Check that the program appears within iTunes under Programs in Library. Please note that the program will not yet have its normal icons. In iTunes, select your device ➔ Programs; ensure that the new program is on the list and then click Install.
4. Synchronise your device and try your new app!
If you encounter any problems installing an app, please contact the software developer via e-mail.
